On our cave tour, we learned that the river has four exposed blue holes. One of these was the cause of the Lost River being listed by Ripley’s Believe it or Not as the “Shortest, deepest river in the world.” Plumb bobs indicated that the blue hole was 427 feet deep, while the river itself is only 350 feet long.

The gift shop was very nice, even the bathrooms were lovely, and the outdoor space was great! My four year old found plenty of things to keep her busy while we were an hour early for our boat tour. Paige was our initial guide that met us and walked us to the Lost River Caverns is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, with the last tour leaving at 4:30 PM on weekdays and at 4:40 PM on weekends and national holidays. Because of reduced tour size, reservations are required.

The mills of Lost River Cave were destroyed in a fire in 1915. 2019-11-02 · This cave isn’t full of formations like you may see in other area caves, but the boat ride certainly makes up for that. The Lost River Cave is a treat and a stop that my family thoroughly enjoyed! If you’re in the area, this really is an attraction worth checking out.

The Laboratory Cache is found in the Ghost Canyon of the Lost River. It was set up to study the Ancient Skeleton and several other specimens within the Lost River. This Cache is unique in that it requires the Orange Tablet found in the Deep Grand Reef Degasi Base to unlock.
